The London Residence is a completed residential project by KLD in a trendy, young area of London.
The brief was to create a cooking/dining experience that felt like a buzzing restaurant. The aim of the kitchen/dining area design is to add some excitement, fun and design flair within the existing walls of the house.
KLD divided the large space into three key areas: the main kitchen wall, ribboning island and a dining area. These three areas combined together to provide a unique experience within the home.
Furnishings for the project were sourced largely locally, from the eclectic mix of suppliers and shops located in this trendy, urban area of London. For example the statement sofa fabric was picked from House of Hackney, along with some accessories and a series of cool, fun and vibrant prints and artwork from local print shop Nelly Duff.
The progress of this particular project required bi-weekly site visits to London to oversee and manage the fit out of the space, as well as to source items from the area.
The result is a vibrant, modern home, a space that expresses the youthful, fun personalities of the home owners while also incorporating the diverse spirit of this cosmopolitan part of London.
